About Us

Hi, we’re Leonie and Joe.

Like you, we had a dream of moving to France. Not just for a holiday, but to properly build a life there. We wanted to live in France, work from France, and make the move in a realistic, legal and long-term way.

At first, we thought it would be easy to find clear information online. But when we started researching how to move to France, we realised how confusing it could be.

There were so many terms and routes: French residency, residence permits, entrepreneur visas, profession libérale, micro-entrepreneur, self-employed work, freelance activity and long-stay visas. Much of what helped us came from other people’s experiences.

After months of research and conversations, we chose the Entrepreneur / Profession Libérale visa route.

For us, this made sense because we planned to move to France while continuing to run our own businesses. But the process was not well documented, so we had to work out the ANEF submission, France-Visas application, TLScontact appointment, business plan, financial forecast and supporting documents ourselves.

That is why we created this site.

This site is based on our own experience of preparing and submitting our visa application. We share the steps we took, the documents we prepared, the forms we completed and the lessons we learned along the way.

We are not immigration lawyers and this is not legal or immigration advice. Every application is different, but we hope our experience gives others a clearer starting point than we had.

We hope this site makes the process feel more understandable, manageable and less lonely.
